Obituary of Joan E. Keefer

Joan E. Keefer of Slate Hill, a retired media clerk with Prentice Hall in West Nyack, died on April 2, 2016 at her home. She was 86. The daughter of the late Arthur and Florence Schupner Ward, she was born on February 21, 1930 in Closter, N.J. She was the widow of William Keefer. Survivors include her children William Whyard and his wife Barbara; Linda Lewis and her husband Bruce; James Keefer and his wife Yoshino and Thomas Keefer and his wife Elaine. Her sister Joyce Koren. Her grandchildren Jason Whyard; Brian Whyard; Randi Hodges; Scott Lewis; Jay Keefer; Larissa Lewis; Scott Keefer; Brian Keefer; Jill Keefer and Billy Keefer. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 A.M.on Saturday April 30, 2016 at the Faith Reformed Church 11 South Centerville Road Slate Hill, New York. Burial will follow in Grove Reformed Church Cemetery in North Bergen, N.J. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties or Faith Reformed Church.
