Obituary of Richard F. Hefner

Richard F. Hefner of Greenwood Lake, a retired detective with the N.Y. City Police Department, died on Friday October 18, 2013 in St. Anthony's Hospital in Warwick. He was 71. The son of the late Richard Hefner and Joan Perillo Hefner, he was born on December 14, 1941 in Queens, N.Y. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving from 1963-1969. Survivors include his wife Cheryl at home. His children Richard A. Hefner and his wife Debbie of Warwick; Alison F. Hefner and Kurt M. Hefner both of Greenwood Lake. His mother Joan Hefner and his cousins and nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be held on Monday October 21, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 22, 2013 at 10 A.M. at St. Stephen's R.C. Church in Warwick, N.Y. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
