Gary Samuel Roorda Washingtonville, New York Gary Samuel Roorda, a lifetime resident of Washingtonville, passed away Sunday August 25, 2013 at home. He was 70. Gary was born on August 9, 1943 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked in various construction jobs throughout his life. Gary is survived by his beloved sisters: Florence Lamberts (John) of Okemos, Michigan and Betty Nywening (Brant) of Campbell Hall, NY. He is also survived by his dear nieces and nephew: Valerie Davis (Michael); Amy Nywening; Andrea Masci (Peter); Paul Nywening (Jaime); Kara Lamberts and Julie Lamberts; as well as many great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held for Gary from 7-9 PM on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at the Lippincott Funeral Chapel, Inc. 107 Murray Avenue Goshen, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday August 29, 2013 at the Funeral Home with Kevin Hossink officiating. Interment will follow at the Orange County Veteran's Cemetery in Goshen, NY. A luncheon with family and friends will be held after the interment at 12 noon at the Goshen Christian Reformed Church Youth Building at 2440 State Route 17A Goshen, NY.
