Obituary of Joseph J. Heffner

Joseph J. Heffner Jr. a retired employee of Chester Cable for over 40 years where he was known as Hawkeye, died Friday December 14, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 81. The son of the late Joseph and Stella Buchalski Heffner, he was born September 30, 1931 in Great Meadows, New Jersey. Joseph often patronized the Monroe OTB and was known there as "the little man". Survivors include his nieces: Carol Jones and her husband Skip of Chester; Darlene Schwarz and her husband Fred of Fredericksburg, VA; his nephews: Todd Heffner of Hugenot; Chance Heffner of Rome, NY; as well as several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his sisters: Frances Doremus & Mary Johnson; his brothers: John; Eddie and Walter Heffner; his niece Gail Muenster; nephews: Jim Johnson and Paul Doremus. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM on Thursday December 20, 2012 at Lippincott Funeral Home, Inc. 92 West Main Street Chester, NY. If you will be attending the visitation, the family is requesting that you bring in an item for the food pantry or drop a donation in the "Church box", as this was a request of Joey's.
