Obituary of Marion Eurich

Marion Eurich of Middletown, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2012 at her home. She was 88. The daughter of the late Mortimer and Stella Morris Fisher, she was born on June 24, 1924 in Middletown, N.Y. During World War II, Marion was a welder on the Battleships in California. She later worked as a Nurses Aide at Horton Hospital and a seamstress at Marlu's Costumes in Greenville. Marion was an organizer for the vote to centralize the Minisink Valley Schools, and then served on the School Board. She was a member of the Greenville Methodist Church for 60 years. She was a member of the Slate Hill Pacers and the Greenville Leisure Club; the Red Hatters and the Wednesday Afternoon Ladies Card Players. She was formerly the Tax Collector for the Town of Greenville. In her later years at the age of 81, Marion made the headlines by Skydiving at Skydive the Ranch in Gardiner, N.Y. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Hospice Volunteers especially Dee and Nanci for their wonderful care of our Mom and our family. In 1947 she married Paul Eurich the love of her life who predeceased her in death in 1999 after more than 50 years of Marriage. Survivors include her children Paul Eurich and his wife Linda of Scotchtown and Patricia Hancock and her husband Charles of Pine Bush. Her grandchildren Michelle Zirkle and her husband Vincent of Taylorsville, N.C. ; Melissa Porretta and her husband Nick of Philadelphia, PA.; Kevin Eurich of Scotchtown; Joyce Horton and her husband Edwin of Walker Valley; Charles Hancock Jr. of Pine Bush and Mary Luna and her husband Jason of Pine Bush. Her great-grandchildren Faith; Zachary; and Lillianna Zirkle; Ayla Porretta; Noelle; Gabriel and Luke Horton and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her fun loving friends that shared many happy times together. She was predeceased by her brothers George, Glenn and Jim and her sisters Eunice; Mildred; Meltha; and Nina. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday September 20, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral services will be held on Friday September 21, 2012 at 11 A.M. at the Greenville Methodist Church 1686 Greenville Turnpike Port Jervis, N.Y. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Methodist Church.
