Obituary of Ella Grace Brown

Ella Grace Brown, former Village Clerk for the Village of Greenwood Lake and a longtime resident of the area, died on January 12, 2016 in Valley View Rehab Center in Goshen. She was 94. The daughter of the late George and Catherine Griffin Victre, she was born on March 13, 1921 in New York, N.Y. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake; the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Greenwood Lake; an active member of the Greenwood Lake Library and the Quilting Group and a member of the Elk's Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband of 69 years Marcellus Brown at home. Her son Roger D. Brown and his wife Mary Amelia Brown of Danville, PA. Her grandchildren Mary Elana Brown; Brendan D. Brown and Elizabeth K. Brown. Her nephews George and Gerard Hawkins; William Fields and William L. Brown and her nieces Kathleen Hawkins and Diane Clark. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday January 14, 2016 from 5-8 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Friday January 15, 2016 at 10 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Warwick Cemetery Warwick, N.Y.
