Obituary of Gerald J. Zanetti

Gerald J. Zanetti of Greenwood Lake, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Gerry was a longtime resident of the area and a nationally known photographer who won many awards. He was 80. The son of the late Roger Zanetti and Frieda ObenaufZanetti, Gerry was born on June 11, 1935 in Clifton, New Jersey. He was a 1953 graduate of Clifton High School, proudly served his country in the US Army from 1959 to 1961, and completed his professional training at Germain School of Photography in 1963. Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Lucy Rawson Zanetti, their daughter Elissa Zanetti Elliott, son-in-law Gordon and granddaughter Grace, all of Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Gerry is also survived by his brother, Reynold Zanetti and wife Marian, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, as well as his nephew Christopher Zanetti of Hagerstown, MD and niece Amy ZanettiArends of Syracuse, NY. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday December 19, 2015 at 12 Noon at New Apostolic Church, 819 Edwards Rd. Parsippany, N.J. The family is forever grateful to the staff of St. Anthony's Hospital, who provided Gerry with compassionate care during the past year. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gerry's memory may be made to St. Anthony's through the Bon Secours Warwick Health Foundation, 255 Lafayette Ave. Suffern, N.Y. 10901.
