Obituary of Frances Sica

Frances Sica, 85, formerly of Chester, passed away peacefully at home, October 23, 2015, with family by her side. She was born March 18, 1930 to Francis and Helen Martin in Manhattan. She loved crocheting and reading. Frances worked for many years as a home health aide to the elderly and she was also a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary for St. Columba in Chester, NY. She was devoted to her family. Her grandchildren knew her home as "Camp Meme". They all spent much of their youth there, getting spoiled and having fun. Frances is survived by her five children: Cheryll A. Barrett and her husband William of Brewster, NY, Geraldine A. Dees and her husband Bruce of Simsbury, CT, Vincent P. Sica and his wife Kelly of South Windsor, CT, Frances S. McManus and her husband Robert of Warwick, NY and Thomas A. Sica and his wife Julie of Glenmont, NY. She is also survived by twelve of her thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: William and his wife Emily, Katherine and her husband Keith, Patricia, Robert, Megan, Thomas, Hilary, Mary, Joseph, Sara, John, Alec, Liam and Genevieve. Frances is also survived by her sister Helen Heaney of Dumont, NJ. Frances was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas P. Sica, her brothers John and David Martin and her sister Rose Hannah. In 2008, she also suffered the loss of her beloved granddaughter, Cassidy Frances McManus. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Sunday October 25, 2015 at Lippincott Funeral Home, Inc. 92 Main Street Chester, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday October 26, 2015 at St. Columba Church in Chester, NY. Interment will follow at Orange County Veteran's Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
