Please share a memory of Janet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Janet Louise nee: Holroyd Vergoth, age 90 , went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Born February 19, 1925 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she was the oldest of five children born to the late Revs. Leona nee: McMahan and Howard Taylor Holroyd, who were Christian Missionaries, sponsored by the Central Christian Church in Springfield, OH. She was also predeceased by brothers David and John, sister Martha Agnew and nephew Scott Agnew. Her sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Mary Brennan and Wayland (Ted) Kerr of Austin, TX, as well as brother-in-law David Agnew of Sandusky, OH survive her. On June 10, 1946 she graduated with distinction from Transylvania College in Lexington, KY, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. On August 18, 1951, she married John Paul Vergoth, Sr. Esq., and together they adopted five children in eleven years. A more loving and devoted mother could not exist. She was predeceased by her husband John, Sr. on February 15, 1989 and son John, Jr. on September 5, 1998. She is survived by daughters Stephanie (Michael) Lapriore of Painted Post, NY, Christina (Gregory) Myruski of Goshen, NY, Claudia (Jeffrey) Gross of Orwigsburg, PA and son Derek Vergoth of Boise, ID, as well as grandchildren Jamie nee: Lapriore (Dennis) Thompson, Andrew Myruski, Alexander Gross and Lauren Gross, great-granddaughters Cordelia and Kenley Thompson and many nieces and nephews. Her life was also blessed by special niece Wendy Agnew Gomscak and dear friend for many years, Frances Bernard. After marrying, and while raising the children, she assisted her husband in his law practice for almost 30 years. She then took employment at CTI Abstract in Goshen, where she worked until health issues forced her to retire at age 89. She was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church of Bloomingburg, NY, and in the choir, and then joined the Mamakating-Bloomingburg Christian Fellowship in Wurtsboro, NY, where she also sang. Pastor Anthony Ciaccio will conduct a memorial service at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. It will be held at the Community Church of Wurtsboro, 134 Sullivan St., Wurtsboro, NY. According to her wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes buried in the family plot in Plattsburg, Ohio at a later date. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Robert Dinsmore, her compassionate physician for many years, the staff at Griswold Home Care, and especially private caregivers Rita and Lisa, whose love and care allowed mom to stay in her home until her passing, her most fervent wish. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the Mamakating-Bloomingburg Christian Fellowship, P.O. Box# 248, Bloomingburg, NY 12721. Local arrangements are being handled by the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. Middletown, NY. 343-6023 or www.ocfuneralhomes.com
