Obituary of Agnes Kornegay

Agnes Kornegay, a former farm worker in Pine Island, and a longtime resident of the area, died on June 9, 2015 in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 81. The daughter of the late Charles and Fannie Parker Kornegay, she was born on February 3, 1934 in Ayden, N.C. She was the widow of Moe Best. Survivors include her children Rose McKinnon and her husband Robert of Inverness, Florida; James Kornegay and his wife Sheila of Ayden, N.C. and Eva Kornegay of Middletown, N.Y. Her sisters Lossie Haddock and Mary Lee Shackleford both of Ayden, N.C. She is also survived by her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday June 18, 2015 from 10-11 A.M. with Funeral Services at 11 A.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, New York. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
