John J. Guihan Jr. of Greenwood Lake, N.Y. a retired Bus Operator with N.Y. City Transit and a longtime resident of the area, died on April 2, 2014 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. He was 81. The son of the late John J. and Ellen Sullivan Guihan, he was born on December 27, 1932 in New York City. He moved at a young age to County Kerry, Ireland. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake; the Gaelic Cultural Society of Greenwood Lake and a former member of the A.O.H. He was a member of the TWU Retirees Assn. Survivors include his wife Rose Guihan at home. His children Christine Feinberg and her husband Richard of Farmington, CT.; Linda Marr and her husband Christopher of Chappaqua, N.Y. and Stephen Guihan and his wife Kerry of Ossining, N.Y. His grandchildren Michael; Caroline; Andrew; Olivia and Lindsay as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday April 6, 2014 from 2-7 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday April 7, 2014 at 10 A.M. at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Hawthorne, N.Y.
