Christened Bridget Olive Cogan, Terry was fondly known as Olive Cogan by her family and friends in her hometown of Ballaghadereen in County Roscommon, Ireland. At age 17 she immigrated to America for job opportunities. While living with an aunt in Boston she was renamed Terry - why no one really knows. Terry moved to New York after visiting with another aunt who lived in Rockaway, NY., while there she became a key punch operator and worked on Wall Street in Manhattan. She thoroughly enjoyed the Irish dances in Woodside, Queens, fell in love with a Brooklyn man and became a devoted wife and mother. They left the city and happily raised their growing family in Greenwood Lake, NY. for the next 48 years. Terry is renowned for loving people, her Irish roots along with all things Irish and her Irish Soda Bread. She and her husband were one of the first families to join the Gaelic Cultural Society, and were proudly honored as Celts of the year. Terry peacefully passed away surrounded by her four children at her eldest daughter's home in Milford, Pa. where she resided for almost the last 2 years of her life. She remains a sweet and loving soul who lives on in the presence of Jesus. Terry was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Bill Mueller (New York).
