Obituary of Charles F. Pearce

Charles Frederick Pearce, 78, of Middletown, a retired member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 28 and longtime resident of the area passed away on July 27, 2023 at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, after a brief illness. The son of the late Walter and Marjorie Kistner Pearce, he was born on September 11, 1944 in New York, New York. Charles moved to the City of Middletown in 1971 with his wife Mary and daughters Donna Marie and Nancy Ann. While in Middletown, Charles and Mary gave birth to their daughter, Susan Mary, in 1973. Before meeting his wife, Mary, Charles enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1962 and served our country honorably in the Vietnam War as a Field Artillery Fire Control Man. After returning to civilian life, Chales worked as a sheet metal worker, eventually becoming the foreman of multiple construction projects. Charles was perhaps most proud that his hands helped to construct the World Trade Center; among other notable buildings and landmarks in New York City. Throughout the years, Charles enjoyed building new things around the house; astronomy; technology, and was a passionate fan of the New York Yankees. Most important of all, Charles was always there to help friends and family, and devoted his life to supporting his grandchildren. Survivors include his partner, Diane Seely of Middletown, NY; his daughters: Donna Dibble, Nancy Valseca and her husband, Victor, Susan Reilly and her companion, Robert, all of whom reside in Middletown; his grandchildren: John Dibble Jr. and his wife, Heather, of Wantage, NJ, Amanda Bak and her husband, John, of Williamsport, PA, Colby Gonzalez of Middletown, NY, Emily Gonzalez of Albuquerque, NM, Brody Reilly of Middletown, NY, Logan Gonzalez of Brooklyn, NY, Mary Gonzalez of New York, NY ; his great grandson, Nicholas Dibble of Wantage, NJ, and great granddaughters Emma and Madison Bak of Williamsport, PA. Charles is predeceased by his wife, Mary Pearce; his brother Robert Pearce and sister Ann Seidel. A memorial of his life will be held on Sunday, August 27th from 12 - 4pm at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home in Middletown, NY. Charles will be interred alongside his wife, Mary, at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday August 28, 2023 at 10 A.M.
