Obituary of Eugene P Scarzafava

Eugene "Gene" Patsy Scarzafava was laid to eternal rest on Monday, March 20th 2023 at the age of 85 surrounded by his loving family. Gene was a Yankee fan (as long as they were winning) and a passionate NASCAR enthusiast. His favorite driver was #24, Jeff Gordon though in more recent years, he grew to enjoy watching Kyle Larson. He always looked forward to going to Talladega with his sons and their friends each year. Throughout his life, he worked for Ford as a service manager and served as a truck driver in the United States Army. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed fishing and hunting with his nephew and hunting partner, Peter Hamblin in his free time. Gene loved his grandchildren and family very much and never hesitated to provide his opinion or teach a life lesson when given the chance. A special thank you to Matthew, who was not only Poppy’s grandson, he was his best friend. Matthew took care of Poppy for the last year and a half or so and selflessly made his time on Earth the best it could be. He provided comfort, companionship and went above and beyond to ensure Pop knew he was loved until his very last breath. Gene is survived by his wife Annette "Nancy" Scarzafava at home, his children Eugene "Geno," Keith and his wife Kimmie, Michele, Kevin and his wife Renee', James "Jimmy" Smith and his wife Donna. He is survived by seven grandchildren: Gabriella and her husband Brandon, Matthew, Rhyan, Gianna, Morgan, Lauren and Aubrey. He is survived by one great grandchild, Nova. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Leona Scarzafava, his father Dominick Scarzafava, and his two brothers, Dominick "Mickey" and Vincent "Vinny" Scarzafava. He will be sorely missed by all of those left behind and will forever be in all of our hearts.
