In Loving Memory of Norbert Rhymer Son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend Norbert Rhymer was the life of the party who was always ready to dance and dress for the occasion. His zest for life will be remembered long after his passing. Norbert passed away peacefully on December 31, 2022, at Garnet Health Hospice in Middletown, New York. Norbert was born on March 2, 1928, to parents James Isaac Rhymer and Christina Adams Rhymer in the Cane Garden Bay, British Virgin Islands. He was a happy child who enjoyed working the fields with his trusty mule and best friend Phillip. He attended school at the Cane Garden Bay Primary School and left Tortola to relocate to St. Thomas where he started his family with his 1st wife Audrey Rhymer. He worked in the hotel industry for many years, until he later relocated to New York and met his 2nd wife, Marie Rhymer and worked in the healthcare industry as a dietician at Jacobi Medical Center for over 40 years. Norbert has 7 children. Norbert was the consummate travel companion who we enjoyed traveling with during our family vacations, just be on time, he wasn't a fan for tardiness even on vacation. He was a member of many social clubs during his life, too numerous to mention. He is preceded in death by both his parents, 6 brothers, Dennis, Walter, Leon, Norwell, Ruben and Eugene, 1 sister, Blanche Cline, 1 daughter Lynette, and 2 grandsons, Hakeem and Kenyatte Sr. He is survived by his 4 sisters, Mildred Hodge, Adina Jones, Daisy Henley and Belsadys Donovan. His children; 2 daughters, Annette Rattray (David) and Deborah Rhymer and 4 sons, Kenneth L. Rhymer (Laurie), Julian Rhymer, Norbert Gregory Rhymer and Denys James Rhymer.
