John Pittenger of Godeffroy, NY died on April 14, 2022 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He was 68. John was born on April 28, 1953 to Lee R. Pittenger and Minnie M. Dodd. In his younger years John worked as a self-employed excavator operator, as well as a talented jack-of-all-trades. In recent years, John enjoyed street shopping with his former wife, Bonnie. He would refurbish his finds and then sell these restored treasures. John is survived by his sisters Judy Hulse and her husband, Daniel; Cindy Pittenger and her husband, Mike Willmeth. Sister-in-law Donna Pittenger. He is also survived by his half-siblings Gene, Jamie and Christine Strobeck; his two stepsons, Redgie and David Cutler; three grandsons, David, Alex and Trevor Cutler; numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, Leroy Pittenger and two sisters, Eunice Spangenberg and Sherry Dobbs. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 14th, 2022, at Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 West Main Street, Middletown, NY. Visitation will be at 11 am with memorial service at 12 noon and a luncheon to follow.
