Please share a memory of Aston to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Aston Henry, known as Johnny was born on June 3, 1945 and departed this life on November 18, 2021. He was the son of Sarah Francis and William Henry and was born on the Island of Jamaica, St. Catherine Parish. He left Jamaica at the age of 20 to work in the United States. He traveled working the fields, until he ended up in what we know as "The Black Dirt" in Pine Island, N.Y. He worked those fields until he was hired by the New York State Department of Transportation. He took pride in maintaining our roads especially during the winter months, where he operated the snowplows for nearly three decades; hardly ever missing a day of work until his retirement in 2015. Aston is survived by his wife Robbin. He was preceded in death by his son Floyd and daughter Lateisha Lanette, as well as three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his son Arnell Rivers and his spouse Elaine Rivers, granddaughter Shane Rivers, grandsons Arnell Rivers Jr. and Darnell Rivers and great-granddaughter Mia Rivers. His son Eric Lamont Washington and granddaughter Avani Washington. Son Nazareth Henry and spouse Ashely Conn Horton; grandson Nazareth Elijah Henry and granddaughter Leila Hazel Henry. Daughter Sharhanda Henry; grandson Donteh Devoell, granddaughters Valiecia Gunter and Velocity Gunter. Aston is also survived by his sister Lucille Watson, his brother Ozzie and sister-in-law Imogene as well as a host of nieces and nephews. "Johnny" as we called him, will certainly be missed by his family, coworkers and many friends who always have a funny Johnny story to tell. May he rest in peace.
