Obituary of Bert Wood

Bert "Jeff" Wood Middletown, New York Bert (Jeff) Wood passed away on August 25, 2021 at Garnet Health Medical Center after a short battle with Covid. He was 66 years old. Bert was born in Middletown, NY on May 19, 1955 to Rosemary Wood. Bert served in the U.S. ARMY, then attended the NYS Dept. of Corrections Academy. He retired from Beacon Correctional Facility in 2006. He was an avid Yankee fan & golfer and a member of McQuoid Engine and Ladder Co. since 1989. Bert is survived by his wife, Nancy of 44 years; his daughters: Erin and Amy and his granddaughter: Madison, all of Middletown. He is also survived by his siblings: Winnie Umhoefer and Mark Meckelburg of Inglis,FL; Mary Marsh of Inglis, FL; Bobbi Jo Townsend of Sullivan County, NY; Robert Townsend and Ruth Hake of Wurtsboro, NY; He is further survived by Eugene and Lucy Clemmer of Middletown, NY; Brian and Alice Brockett of Otisville, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends. Bert was predeceased by his grandson: Tyler Charles Wood-Altman as well as his siblings: Tammy Brockett, Sharee Wood, Robert(George) Wood and Betti Jo Townsend. As you prepare to attend services, the family requests that facial coverings and social distancing be maintained at all times while in the Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday October 25, 2021 from 4-7 PM at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown, NY. Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 26, 2021 at10 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Orange County Veteran's Cemetery in Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Orange County Veteran's Cemetery 111 Craigville Rd. Goshen, NY 10924.
