BRIDGET "BRIDIE" KRAWCZYK May 11, 1936 - December 31, 2014 Middletown, NY Bridget "Bridie" Krawczyk, (Nee Donaghy) passed peacefully at home on December 31, 2014, surrounded by her family. Born May 11, 1936 in Ballymone, Dungiven. County Derry, Northern Ireland. Bridget is one of ten children, five brothers and four sisters born to Henry James Donaghey and Margaret Donaghey. Bridie graduated in 1958 with a Diploma in Nursing and in 1959 with the Midwives Board in Liverpool, England. She worked for many years in Ireland and England as a Midwife delivering over 2000 babies. In 1965 she immigrated to America after being recruited by Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC. She worked for eight years in ICU and as a Head Nurse. In 1973 Bridie began her career at ORMC "Horton Hospital" as a night supervisor. In 1975 she became the Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department until 1991. She completed her career in Case Management and retired in April 2002. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 48 years, Lucian Krawczyk and daughter, Martha Krawczyk; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Ann Donaghy; nieces and nephew: Henry James, Margaret and Jane, in addition to numerous siblings and relatives in Ireland and England. She was predeceased by her son, Andrew Krawczyk. An Irish Blessing Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free! I follow the plan God laid for me. I saw His face, I heard His call, I took His hand and left it all... I could not stay another day, To love, to laugh, to work or play; Tasks left undone must stay that way. And if my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss... Ah yes, these things I too, shall miss. My life's been full, I've savoured much: Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief- Don't shorten yours with undue grief. Be not burdened with tears of sorrow, Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday January 6th at Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 West Main St., Middletown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday January 7th at St. Stanislaus Church in Pine Island, NY. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
