Amalia J. Raponi, a former seamstress at Playtogs in Middletown and longtime resident of the area passed away December 23, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 100. The daughter of the late Domenic and Marianne Bello, she was born January 12, 1914 in Malden on Hudson, NY. She was the widow of Alfred Raponi. She was a member of St. Joseph RC Church in Middletown. Survivors include her children: Barbara Gorczynski and her husband John of Matamoras, PA; Dominick Raponi and his wife Kathy of the Hamlet of Wallkill, NY; her 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her sister: Camille Russo of the state of Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother: Louis and her sisters: Josie and Vera. Visitation will be held from 5-9 PM on Friday January 2, 2015 at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Saturday January 3, 2015 at St. Joseph RC Church in Middletown. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Middletown, NY.
