Obituary of Phillip D. Bertholf

Phillips D. Bertholf Sr. of Middletown, a retired Juvenile Counselor for the NYS Division of Youth at the Goshen Secure Center in Goshen, and a lifelong resident of the area, died on September 8, 2016 in Tucson, Arizona. He was 59. The son of the late William and Hilda Wisher Bertholf, he was born on September 19, 1956 in Middletown, New York. He was a 36 year member of the Waalkill Engine Company #6 in Middletown, New York. Survivors include his wife Melody Doyle Bertholf at home. His children: Phillip Bertholf Jr. and his wife Sonya of Greensboro, N.C.; Raelynn Bertholf and wife Brianne of Middletown; Corey Bertholf of Middletown; Sasha Bertholf of Middletown; William Leone and his wife DeeDee of Cortland Manor, N.Y.; Tamra Scott and her husband Ignatius of Penn Yan, N.Y.; Robert Leone and his wife Jacqueline of Walden, N.Y. and Philip Leone and his wife Wendy of New Paltz, N.Y. His sisters Carolee Johnson and her husband the Rev. Dennis Johnson; Linda Scott and her husband William and Barbara Bertholf all of Middletown and his brother William Garry Bertholf and his wife Debbie of Liberty. He was the beloved Pop to his 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife Sharon Delillo-Chang of Middletown and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents William and Hilda Bertholf Sr. and his sister Patricia Ann Bertholf. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday September 13, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday September 14, 2016 at 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wallkill Cemetery Phillipsburg, N.Y.
