Please share a memory of Kathleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathleen Kiernan died peacefully August 7 at St Patrick's Nursing Home in the Bronx. She was born in Manhattan December 1, 1919 to Patrick and Mary (nee Murphy) Gilligan. Shortly after graduating from George Washington High School she married her husband, Frank, the love of her life. They moved to Middletown and would live happily together until his death in 2001. Kathleen worked at the Bank of New York in the Trust Department where she acquired a passion for finance. She loved to discuss investments, the stock market and politics. Her politics always favored the under-dog. She was an avid reader of history and biography but her favorite interest was dance: ballet to jazz to popular ballroom; she loved it all. She is survived by her son Paul his wife Patricia, three granddaughters, Siobhan (husband John) Caitlin and Moira and one grandson, James; multiple nephews and nieces who all shared her unstinting love. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church Euclid Ave. Middletown, N.Y. on Saturday August 20, 2016 at 10 A.M. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Middletown, N.Y. Arrangements by Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 343-6023 or www.ocfuneralhomes.com.
