Obituary of Edward D. Martin Sr.

Edward David Martin Sr. transitioned this life on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Garnet Medical Center, Middletown, New York. He was the son of the late Willie and Florence Martin, and was born on September 24, 1964 at Horton Hospital (currently Garnet Medical Center). Edward grew up in Middletown, New York and was educated in the Middletown City School System. Edward retired from Mid -Hudson Forensic Psychotherapy Center after thirty plus years' of service. Edward (lovingly called Eddie) enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid sports fan. Eddie reveled in telling family stories and was very good at sharing it. He was a loving father who was loved by his family, just as much as he loved them. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, his loving companion Mildred Smith, three daughters, Shante Clemmons (Reginald), Decatur Georgia, Elysha Martin and LaShelle Harris (Middletown, New York). Three sons, Jamal Martin, Edward Martin Jr., Jarrel Gregory, Barry Davis, Avan Harris (Middletown, NY), Terric Harris (Port St Lucie, Florida). Six grandchildren, Reginald Clemmens, Jr, Makayla Clemmons, Mya Davis, Sidney Harris, Damian Harris, Julius Harris. Seven brothers, Paul Garnere, Anthony Garnere, Richard Garnere, and Willie Martin, Jr. all of Middletown, NY. Mark Martin (Utica, NY), Vernon Dillon (Sanford, Florida), Willie Martin (Sarasota, Florida). Six sisters, Sandra Martin, Lynn Martin (Middletown, NY), Jaqueline Bowens (Sarasota, FL), Ellen Patterson (Rembert, South Carolina), Barbara Martin (Durham, North Carolina), Patricia Manigault (Albany, New York). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of extended family and friends. Edward was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Connie Crawford, three brothers, James Martin, Elbert Dillon, David Manigault
