Obituary of Michael A. Rizzo

Michael A. Rizzo of Port St. Lucie, Florida and a former longtime resident of Middletown, N.Y. entered into rest at his home on October 19, 2023 surrounded by his daughters and lifelong friend Joe. He was 80. Michael was known as Mike, Dad, Poppy and Pop, he was born on August 13,1943 in Bronx, New York. Mike was a retired draftsman, he married Margaret Abbate on October 9,1965 and settled in Middletown in 1970 from New Rochelle, N.Y. He had a great love of his family, he loved all types of old movies and music and enjoyed spending time outdoors and fishing. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret A. Rizzo; his parents Michael and Francis Rizzo; his sister Carmella Schnabel and his grandson Mathew Whitlock. He is survived by his three daughters Michelle Williams (Jim) of Canton, GA.; Jodi Jones (Will) of Slate Hill, N.Y. and Danielle Rizzo (partner Dan Wall) of New Hampton, N.Y. His eight grandchildren: Daniel Redmond, William Laird, Chelsea Avalos, Jake Williams, Erin Steele, Hannah Whitlock, Nicholas Whitlock and Isabelle Whitlock and his ten great-grandchildren. His brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Kathy Rizzo and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Phyllis and Michael Catalogna. His lifelong friend Joseph Marro and numerous nieces and nephews.
