Obituary of Bridget "Bridie" O'Neill

Bridget "Bridie" O'Neill of Greenwood Lake, N.Y., a homemaker and longtime resident of the area, died on May 20, 2018 at her home. She was 86. The daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine Mullane, she was born on November 3, 1931 in Athea, County Limerick, Ireland. She was the widow of Michael O'Neill who preceded her in death on September 12, 1998. Bridie was a member of Holy Rosary Church; the Gaelic Cultural Society and Project Children. She also served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. Survivors include her sons Gerard O'Neill and his wife Krista of Greenwood Lake, N.Y. and Anthony O'Neill and his wife Marcy of Warwick, N.Y. Her grandchildren Angelina; Michael; Joliana; Amelia and Kayla. Her sister Julia and her nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers Jack; Patrick and Timmy and her sister Ellen. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday May 23, 2018 from 3-8 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday May 24, 2018 at 10 AM at the Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Burial will be in St. Stephens Cemetery Warwick, New York. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals-on-Wheels.
