Obituary of Stanley Burgess

Stanley F. Burgess Jr. of Greenwood Lake, a retired electrician and longtime resident of the area, died on January 14, 2014 in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 75. The son of the late Stanley and Regina Burgess, he was born on June 26, 1938 in Paterson, New Jersey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a past member of the P.O. L. Fire Company in Wayne, N.J. Survivors include his wife Ruth Burgess at home. His sons Frank Maellaro of Colorado Springs, Co. and Glenn Burgess at home. His sisters Regina Thompson of Ringwood, N.J. and Kathleen Briere of Palm City, Florida. His grandchildren Frances and Patrick and several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his dog Tinker. He was predeceased by his daughter Sharon Ruth. Visitation hours will be held on Friday January 17, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 18, 2014 at 10 A.M. at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery Warwick, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Good Shepard or Holy Rosary Church both in Greenwood Lake, N.Y.
