CAROL J. HAAKMEESTER September 17, 1942 - January 4, 2014 Loch Sheldrake, NY Carol J. Haakmeester, a former LPN and a former longtime resident of Middletown, died on January 4, 2014 at her home. She was 71. The daughter of the late Henry and Sophie Hannema Haakmeester, she was born on September 17, 1942 in Goshen, NY. The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Jackie Puehlhorg and Kathy Bendlin. Survivors include her companion, William J. Calahan Jr. of Middletown. Her brothers: David Haakmeester and his wife, Frances of Big Canoe, GA, Philip Haakmeester and his wife, Hannah and Paul Haakmeester, both of Middletown, NY. She is also survived by her nieces and cousins. Visitation hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, January 10th at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc., 72 West Main St. Middletown, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wallkill Cemetery Phillipsburg, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or NAMI c/o the Mental Health Assn. of Orange County. Arrangements by Ralston-Lppincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc.
