Obituary of Katharine G. Farrar

Katharine G. Farrar, 71, of Middletown NY and long time resident of the area, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 7, 2013. The Daughter of Edward James and Antoinette Maiorino Farrar She was born on July 17, 1942 in Queens NY. Kathy worked most of her life as a supervisor for RECAP Weatherization, Elant Nursing Home in Fishkill, and Mountain Restaurant Supply. After she retired, her love of children led her to become a Teacher's Aide at Orange Ulster BOCES and the Goshen Central School District. Kathy loved sports and played softball for many years; then moved on to golf, which she played very frequently and very well. She was a member of the Stony Ford Women's Golf League as well as a regular sub on the Winding Hills Thursday Night Women's League. Kathy had many other interests. She loved to sing, dance, and was always ready to play cards or go fishing. Her true love, however, was carpentry, and Kathy could work magic with a set of tools, whether she was building, refinishing or remodeling. Kathy was an avid fan of the New York Mets and New York Giants and could be found rooting for her favorite teams on a regular basis. She especially enjoyed her trips to Shea Stadium and Citi Field to watch her beloved Mets play. She especially enjoyed time with her family and friends and was always there to lend an ear, give advice, or help out with a project. Kathy was loved by all who knew her for her kindness and giving heart. Her world was complete when her great niece, Katelyn and great nephew, Christopher, were born. Kathy will be remembered for her sense of humor, smile, kind and giving spirit and positive outlook on every aspect of life. Kathy is survived by her nephew James E. Sanfilippo; her Niece Antoinette R. Perez McLemore & nephew in law Vinnie McLemore, great niece & nephew Katelyn & Christopher McLemore & two step great nieces Savannah & Cassidy McLemore as well as many cousins.
