Obituary of Walter Van Doran

Walter T. Van Doran of Greenwood Lake, a retired caterer with LA Gourmet in Manhattan, N.Y. and a longtime resident of the area, died on Monday July 22, 2013 at his home. He was 62. The son of the late Robert and Mary Van Doran, he was born on September 23, 1950 in the Bronx, N.Y. He was the widower of Victoria Jean Van Doran. Survivors include his children Walter Van Doran of N.J.; David Van Doran of Greenwood Lake; Anne Van Doran Edwards and Carriann Saint Louis both of Westbrookville. His brothers Robert Van Doran of Hicksville, N.Y.; Michael Van Doran; James Van Doran; Stephen Van Doran and Christopher Van Doran all of Greenwood Lake. His sisters Annmarie Sabarese ; Mary Cabezal both of Greenwood Lake and Ellen Rampe of Warwick. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Kathleen DeVoe; his brothers Thomas and Edward Van Doran and his sister-in-law Teresa Van Doran. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday July 25, 2013 from 7-9 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 26, 2013 at 10 A.M. at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer and Brain Cancer research.
