Obituary of Sylvia Salvesen

Sylvia Salvesen of Monroe, a homemaker and longtime resident of the area, died on May 31, 2013 at her home. She was 96. The daughter of the late Jens and Anna Jensen, she was born on February 14, 1917 in Luvern, Minnesota. She was the widow of Jack Salvesen. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Greenwood Lake; the Sewing Guild of America and was a Poll Watcher for the Board of Elections. Survivors include her son Jerry Salvesen and his wife Beth of Mahopac, N.Y. Her grandchildren: Nicole; Noel and Eric and her great-grandchildren: Jason; Cody; Jade; Sierra; Jordan and Madelyn. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son James Salvesen. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday June 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2013 at 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Lake Cemetery in Greenwood Lake, N.Y.
