Obituary of Joan P. Kain

Joan Kain Middletown, New York Joan Kain of Middletown, retired Head Librarian for the New York City Office of the State Attorney General, and a lifelong resident of the area, died on May 14, 2013 in Schervier Pavilion in Warwick. She was 76. The daughter of the late William and Gertrude Hapke Kain, she was born on February 4, 1937 in Middletown, N.Y. She was a graduate of Middletown High School Class of 1955; graduate of Orange County Community College. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Columbia University, Master of Arts Degree from the New School for Social Research and a Master of Library Science Degree from Pratt Institute. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Middletown. She is survived by several cousins. Visitation hours will be held on Saturday May 18, 2013 from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 18, 2013 at 11 A.M. in St. Joseph Church Cottage Street Middletown, N.Y. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Middletown, N.Y.
