Obituary of Linda L. VanHouten-Mortensen

Linda Van Houten-Mortensen Middletown, New York Linda Van Houten-Mortensen, born August 12, 1942 in Cornwall, New York, lived most of her life in New Hampton and Middletown, NY, quietly passed on at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh on January 18, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Homer Van Houten and Alice Van-Houten- Galletly. A family statement reads: "Linda (Grandma) has found peace, and gloriously enters a better place with our Lord." The family wishes to thank the kind & caring people of Orange & Sullivan Hospice, Inc. Linda was the beloved partner of Ronald C. Mortensen Sr. who will miss her dearly; She also leaves behind her loving daughters: DanielleMortensen ; Donna Emerson & her husband Carl; her loving son: Allen Mortensen (who arrived on time to say good-bye from the state of Florida); her loving grandchildren: Carl & Valerie Emerson; Karena Mortensen and great-grandchild: Aaliyah, "who will all miss Grandma." Linda is also survived by her brothers: Jack Van Houten & his wife Marilee; Ronald Galletly & his wife Veronica; Her sister: Joyce Nicosia & her husband Ross; as well as many nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. "She will be sadly missed by all." Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday April 7, 2013 at the Funeral Home.
