Thomas A. Smith, a former roofer and lifelong resident of the area, passed away Sunday January 6, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 54. The son of the late Joseph Smith and Jeanette Lewis Freeman, he was born on May 5, 1958 in Middletown, NY. Thomas was a former member of the Waalkill Engine Co. #6. He is survived by his two sons: Thomas Smith Jr. of Middletown; Kyle Smith of Monticello; his daughter: Ranessa Smith of Middletown;his mother: Jeanette Freeman of Middletown; his four brothers: Lee Thomas(Wilma)of New Hampshire; Ross Freeman (Robin) of Chester; Bishop Robert Smith (Pamela) of Middletown; Benjamin Delaney(Terri-Jo) of Virginia; his two sisters: Hannah Sparks of Georgia; Elizabeth Rivers (Clarence) of Middletown; as well as his granddaughter: Ava Marie; his close friend Carol Reed and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 10 -11 AM on Friday January 11, 2013 at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Middletown, NY.
