Middletown, New York
Petra Mendoza, a former laborer at the brush factory in Middletown, passed away on Tuesday November 20, 2012 at home. She was 73.
The daughter of the late Manuel and Paula Sanchez Ortega, she was born on August 1, 1939 in Cidra, Puerto Rico. She was the widow of Francisco Mendoza and was a member of the Hermanos Unidos en Cristo Church in Middletown.
Petra is survived by her 7 Children: Carmen Mendoza; William Mendoza; Maria M. Pacheco; Margarita Smith; Omaria Rodriguez all of Middletown; Santos Mendoza of Virginia; Maria S. Centeno of New Jersey; her sisters: Jeronima and Dominga of Puerto Rico; Narsisa of Middletown and her brother: Angel of Middletown. She is also survived by her 28 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews. Petra was predeceased by her son Domingo Mendoza.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 23, 2012 from 5-8 PM at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday November 24, 2012 at 11 AM at Iglesia Hermanos Unidos en Cristo in Middletown.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in the town of Wawayanda, NY.
