Obituary of Alfonso M. Sozio

Alfonso M. Sozio, a retired bus driver for New York City Transit Authority and longtime resident of the area, died on Tuesday September 25, 2012 at home. He was 97. The son of the late Michael and Antoinetta Sozio, he was born on February 27, 1915 in New York City. He was the widower of Margaret Sozio. He was a WWII US Navy veteran, a member of the Greenwood Lake Lions Club, and he was the former building inspector in Greenwood Lake. Survivors include his brother-in-law Karl and his wife Helene of Nanuet; his nieces Julie Schaefer of Congers; Mary Ann Aruti of Oregon and Joan Conroy of the state of Florida and his nephew Thomas Schaefer of Georgia Visitation will be held on Friday September 28, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Strong-Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak Street Greenwood Lake, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday September 29, 2012 at the Funeral Home Interment will follow at Warwick Cemetery in Warwick, New York.
