Obituary of Fran Weir

Fran Weir passed away at home surrounded in love on September 13, 2012. She spent many years working at Shoprite on Dolson Ave. and Route 211 in Middletown. In more recent years she became a home health care assistant, giving freely of herself to the care of others. Fran was also known as Fran Briggs and Fran Kokinchak. She was predeceased by her father Ralph Weir; her mother, Ann Mitchell Weir; her stepmother Bernadette Scully Weir; and her sister Suzanne Michaelson. She leaves behind her companion Walter Smith; her daughters RoseAnn Warren and her husband John and Maria Briggs-Cronk and her husband Todd. Her grandchildren Bryan Michael Fucci; Kira Deborah Selena Patricia Briggs-Sansivero; Gavin Mykel Briggs and Christopher George Cronk; as well as 2 nephews and 1 niece. She also leaves behind her well loved pets, Ruby and Piper. Fran enjoyed many interesting hobbies that included yard sales, Civil War re-enacting, crossword puzzles, and every Christmas she transformed her home into a winter wonderland. Fran touched the lives of everyone who encountered her. She gave of herself selflessly and always had a helping hand for friends and strangers alike. Her presence on this earth will be sorely missed. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday September 16, 2012 from 2-6 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y.
