John Forshay New Hampton, New York John Forshay, a retired laborer for the Local 17 Union and a longtime resident of the area died Sunday April 27, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 77. The son of the late Samuel and Julia Carrigan Forshay, he was born on October 25, 1936 in Nyack, NY. He was a member of the Local 17 Laborers Union in Newburgh, NY. Survivors include his wife: Helen Forshay at home; his daughter: Cathy Muller and her husband Brian of Walden, NY; his step-children: Sanford Smith Jr. of New Hampton; Deborah Bynum and her husband Jan of Poughkeepsie, NY; his grandchildren: Allison; Michael Romer Jr. and his companion Nicole; Matthew Romer; Amy Romer and her husband Will. He is further survived by great-grandchildren: Victoria, Kaitlyn and Daniel; his brother: James Forshay and his wife Brenda of Fonda, NY and his sister: Ellen Hauser of the state of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son John Forshay Jr.; his brother Eddie; his sisters: Alice; Doris; Julia and Barbara. Visitation will be held from 7-9 PM on Thursday May 1, 2014 at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown, NY.
