Obituary of Helen E. Baker

Helen Elizabeth Baker Helen E. Baker, passed away after a brief illness at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 89. The daughter of a lawyer, William P. Seddon and an artist, Elsie Seddon, she was born in 1924 in Paterson, New Jersey. Helen attended Hackensack School of Nursing in New Jersey after high school. As a young woman she was active in sports and excelled in tennis, horseback riding, and sailing. She met her future husband, Fordyce W. Baker, Jr. while in nurses' training. After they married, they lived in northern New Jersey and later moved to South Jersey. Fordyce passed away in 2006. She is survived by three children and their spouses: William Charles Baker and his wife Faith Kunkel Baker; Susan Eva Baker Erny and her husband Stephen Erny; Elizabeth Margaret Gooden and her husband James Gooden. A fourth child, Robert Personette Baker passed away nearly 8 years ago. She also is survived by four grandchildren: Christopher Baker, Timothy Baker, and Taylor Baker, and Andrew Gooden as well as four great grandchildren: Zachary Baker, Hayden Baker, Landen Baker, and Bryce Lewis. Graveside Services will be on Thursday April 3, 2014 at 2 P.M. at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc.
