Obituary of Lorraine M. Damiano

Please share a memory of Lorraine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On January 29, 2022, Heaven gained another angel. Lorraine M. Damiano joined her loving husband, Peter J. Damiano, Sr., of whom they shared 63 years of marriage until his passing on September 30, 2010. Lorraine, a longtime resident of Middletown, NY entered eternal rest at her home surrounded by her devoted, loving family. She was 93 years old. Lorraine was born in Conklin, NY, and was the daughter of Kenneth Heath and Lulu Goodyear Aikens, and her loving stepfather, Charles Aikens, Sr. Lorraine was a graduate of Middletown High School. Together with the love of her life, Peter, she helped them achieve their dream of becoming the founders and owners of Empire Home Improvement Company in 1954 in Middletown, NY. Lorraine enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, visiting with friends, golfing, solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing solitaire, watching the Hallmark Channel, and taking walks at St. Albert's Priory which was always accompanied with prayer, and reflection. Lorraine was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to countless people. Lorraine considered her husband, family, and friends to be her greatest blessing. She was always actively involved in every aspect of her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren's lives. Whatever interested them, interested her. Lorraine always put others before herself. Always making sure you felt loved and would never let you leave her home without having a full stomach. Lorraine was affectionately known as Nannie to many people. She was a lovely, kind, and caring person. Lorraine will be remembered for her love of family, friends, and her warm generous heart. The true epitome of a perfect lady. Lorraine was pre-deceased by her parents, husband, and brother, Charles Aikens Jr. Lorraine is survived by her devoted children: daughter, Donna M. Hayden and her husband Dennis, and son Peter J. Damiano, Jr. and his wife Cindy, all of Middletown NY. Her grand-children Michael Hayden and his wife Daphne of Charlotte, NC, Matthew Hayden and his wife Colleen of Circleville NY, Nicole Damiano and her husband Daniel Ancona of Malta, NY, and P.J. Damiano and his fiancé Hilary Rosen, of Port St. Lucie, FL. Her great-grandchildren Kathleen Hayden, Andrew Hayden, Liam Hayden, Ava Ancona, and Christopher Ancona. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and her loyal canine companion Molly. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Fran, Galyna, and Ginny, as well as Dr. C.
