Gilbert P. "Buzzy" Rose Jr. Middletown, New York Gilbert P. "Buzzy" Rose Jr. of Middletown, N.Y. retired YDA from the Goshen Secure Center and a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on August 9, 2021 in Garnet Health Medical Center. He was 86. The son of the late Gilbert and Hilda Hasbrouck Rose Sr., he was born on January 22, 1935 in Middletown, New York. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. "Buzzy" was a track and football star at Middletown High School. His football team was the first team to win the Erie Bell. His track team won the DUSO championship. He was a member of the Shawangunk Rod and Gun Club where he loved pistol shooting. He was a member of CFF Church and Family Church where he served as an usher and in the choir. In addition to his parents, Gilbert was predeceased by his wife Monika and his sisters Judith Blair and Sharon Rose. He is survived by his children Andrew Rose of Middletown, N.Y. Cynthia Brown (Anthony) of Middletown, N.Y. and James Rose (Christine) of New Jersey. His brothers Eugene Rose (Joanne) of Pine Bush, N.Y.; Steven Rose (Paula) of Middletown, N.Y. and Jeff Rose (Terry) of Georgia. His grandchildren Arletha; Isaiah; Jessie; Samuel and Jamie. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Wednesday August 18, 2021 at 11 A.M. at Hillside Cemetery in Middletown, N.Y.
