William Melville Middletown, New York William Melville of Middletown, a retired electrician with Chester Cable in Chester, N.Y. and a longtime resident of the area, passed away on May 17, 2020 in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 88. The son of the late Patrick and Frieda Melville, he was born on November 26, 1931 in Bronx, N.Y. William was a career veteran of the U.S. Army. Having served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He served over 22 years in the Army. He was the widower of Catherine Melville. Survivors include his children Thomas Melville and his wife Maryann of Montgomery, N.Y.; Robert Melville and his wife Elizabeth of Middletown; Kathleen Valko and her husband Peter of the State of Florida and Linda Melville of Middletown, N.Y. His sister Patricia McGarty of Monroe and he is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son William Melville Jr. Private services were held on Friday May 22, 2020 with burial with military honors in Wallkill Cemetery Town of Wallkill, N.Y.
