Vincent A. Siracuse

Vincent A. Siracuse, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Saturday May 7, 2022. He was born on April 28,1935 in Swoyersville, PA. He was the son of the late Frank and Jennie Piazza Siracuse.

Vincent was a graduate of Swoyersville High School, Swoyersville, PA. he then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in science from Mansfield University, Mansfield, PA. where he met his loving wife Ginger. While at Mansfield he was an accomplished scholar athlete who played football, basketball and baseball. He was inducted into the Mansfield University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984. He continued his education with National Science Foundation fellowships at both Franklin and Marshall College and Ohio State University and completed his Master's degree at SUNY New Paltz.

Vincent taught and touched the lives of many students throughout his life. He was a high school science teacher starting at Chester High School and continuing for many years at Goshen Central High School. He shared his love of sports by coaching high school basketball, baseball, football, and cross county. Once out of the coaching world he then refereed basketball and soccer. Vince was an avid golfer and along with playing golf he worked at the Town of Wallkill Golf Club for many years. He also taught many students to drive over the years by teaching driver's education and the five hour pre-licensing course at Goshen, Newburgh, and Pine Bush High Schools and Decat Driving School in Middletown.

Most of all Vincent was devoted to and loved spending time with his family. His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild brought him tremendous joy. They will all dearly miss him very much.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Carl and his wife Eileen Siracuse, his sister Rosalie and her husband Menzie Amato, his sister Phyllis and her husband Andy Semko and his niece Jane Semko Burns.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Ginger (Hokanson) Siracuse, children Mark Siracuse and his wife Carolyn of Omaha, NE, Jean Siracuse Lopez and husband Rudy of Camarillo, CA., Robert Siracuse and his wife Jackie of Goshen, N.Y. His grandchildren Brandon Siracuse of Iowa, Brianna Siracuse of Nebraska, Cristy Lopez-Bowlin and her husband Matt, Nico Lopez, Emma Lopez and Trevor Lopez of California, Julia Siracuse of New Jersey, Robby Siracuse, David Siracuse of New York, and his great grandchild Gwen Bowlin of California. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 30th, 2022 at 11 A.M. at the Scotchtown Presbyterian Church 367 Blumel Road Middletown, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (donate.myasthenia.org) or the Scotchtown Presbyterian Church.
