Stanley Phillips of Tampa, Florida and a former longtime resident of Middletown, N.Y. died on January 13, 2018 in St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, FL. He was 87. The son of the late Martin H. and Mae Myers Phillips, he was born on August 15, 1930 in Middletown, New York. Stanley was a graduate of Pace University and was a retired accountant for the City of New York. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He also owned M&M (Martin & Mae) Market on Dolson Ave. in Middletown. Stan loved to fish, hunt and golf. Stan was a part of the Al Turi Golf League and was able to start the Middletown High School Golf Team at the Orange County Golf Club as a student. He also coached Little League and volunteered at numerous places in Florida and New York. He was the widower of Donna E. Phillips. Survivors include his daughter-in-law Sharon Phillips of Middletown and his grandsons David E. Phillips of Tampa, Florida; Mark A. Phillips of Denver, Colorado and Craig M. Phillips of the Florida Keys. He is also survived by his sisters-in-laws Margie Phillips of Middletown and Carmela Phillips of Cape Coral, Florida and his nieces and nephews. Stanley was predeceased by his son David E. Phillips and his brothers M. Ronald Phillips and Roger Phillips. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday January 18, 2018 from 4-7 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, New York. Funeral Services will be held on Friday January 19, 2018 at 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Wallkill Cemetery Town of Wallkill, N.Y.
