Shirley Toth

Shirley Toth of New Paltz, N.Y., continued on her journey on July 22, 2024.

The daughter of the late John and Julia Toth, she was born on April 6, 1940 in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Shirley was a veteran of the United States Navy. She went on to work at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center while getting her BA and then Master’s degree at SUNY New Paltz.

Shirley started working for BOCES as a special education teacher. She loved playing her guitar and singing with her students. She later left BOCES and started a successful career in Real Estate, while going back to school and attaining her administrative certificate. She then secured employment back at Ulster BOCES becoming an administrator for adult education department from which she later retired.

Shirley was an avid softball player and could pitch an unhittable Knuckleball.

Survivors include her beloved dog Bella and many nieces, nephews and several close friends.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Shirley loved animals and would be honored if you donated to a shelter or Rescue of your choice.
