Ronald Leon Bennett, Sr. Formerly of New Hampton, N.Y. Ronald Leon Bennett Sr., a lifelong area resident, joined his beloved wife Stella, in eternal rest on Monday June 30, 2014. He was 96. Ronald was born March 8, 1918 in New Milford, N.Y. He was the 11th of 12 children born to Edward Benjamin Bennett and Anna Mary Utter Bennett. His oldest brother, Harold was born in 1898, making the lives of the 12 siblings span across three different centuries. Ronald's mother passed away when he was just 3 years old and he was raised by his sister, Ines. When Ronald was 16, his father died of complications after a car accident. On Thanksgiving day, November 26, 1936 Ronald married the love of his life, Stella Anna Mott. They shared 62 happy years and were blessed with 5 children, before she passed away in 1999. Ronald was a farmer in his early life, later working as a milk truck hauler and finally as a mail truck driver. He was also a veteran, having served in the Army during WWII. Ronald is survived by his children: Joan Bennett Klein of Waverly, N.Y.; Ronald Bennett Jr. and his companion Joy Foster of Howells and Nancy Bennett Banks of Winchester, KY. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Stella and his parents Edward and Annie, Ronald was also predeceased by his daughter Janice; his son Donald; his grandson Daniel and 11 brothers and sisters: Harold, Mildred, Edna, Mable, Wilfred, Edward, Leslie, Ines, Hubert, Kenneth and Ivan. Visitation hours will be held on Saturday July 5, 2014 from 4 to 9 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Graveside services will be held on Monday July 7, 2014 at 2 P.M. in Pine Hill Cemetery Town of Wawayanda, N.Y. Arrangements by Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 343-6023
