Rolf Krohn Middletown, New York Rolf Krohn of Middletown, a longtime resident of the area, died on December 7, 2014 at his home. He was 83. Rolf was born the son of Klara and Wilhelm Krohn on May 16, 1931 in Uetersen, Germany. He studied for three years at the Clearsche Music Conservatory in Hamburg, Germany. He moved to the U.S. in 1953 and lived for four years in Rockland County, and then joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. While in the Army he performed for Troops at the Army Chapel, Officers Club and at the Bob Hope Talent Show at Anchorage, Alaska. Upon his release from the Military, Rolf was an owner of Bauer & Krohn Organ Studios for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He taught music and also performed at local churches and was the head organist at the Paramount Theatre in Middletown and the Greek Orthodox Church in Middletown. Survivors include his wife Maxine ; his children Michael Krohn; Jefrey Furman (Karen Furman); Nancy Itzla; Linda Harahan; John Furman (Lorraine) and Marcy Furman. His grandchildren Heidi Furman and Cassidy Harahan and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his good friend Harry Mann. He was predeceased by his son Howard Krohn and his brother Heinz. Funeral Services will be private. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Pine Hill Cemetery Town of Wawayanda, New York.
