Robert Clawson of Otisville, N.Y. passed away on February 14, 2025 in the Kaplan Family Hospice in Newburgh, N.Y. He was 87.
The son of the late Douglas and Esther Clawson, he was born on February 24, 1937 in Gillette, New Jersey.
He was married to Freda B. Clawson for over 63 years.
Bob graduated from Orange County Community College and SUNY Oneonta. He retired from the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Hoffman Lodge #412 and Beth El Post 29 Masonic War Vets and a member of the Queen Esther Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. His hobby was trains.
Survivors include his wife Freda Clawson at home. His daughters Robin Lynn (Clete) Caywood of Easley, S.C. and Kathryn Jean King of Otisville, N.Y. His sister Doris Knapp of Barnstable, MA. And sister-in-law Annette Clawson of Lakewood, Ohio. His grandchildren Carrie (Tommy) Cotton of Piedmont, S.C., Cale (Anne) Caywood of Apex, N.C., Sarah (Taye) Nembhard of North Ogden, Utah, Zebulin King of Waterbury, CT and his great granddaughter Amelia Nembhard. He is also survived by his in-laws Raymond (Betsy) Baker, Darlene Allen, Saundra (Hans) Hansen, Mary Baker and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Edwin Clawson, his sister Marcia Clawson, his in-laws Gerald Allen, Debrah Baker, Earl & Geneive Baker, and Fredrick Baker Jr.
Graveside Services with Military Honors, Masonic Services and Masonic War Vet Services will be held at the Mt. Hope Plains Cemetery in Otisville in the Spring.
