Richard Macneil

Richard E. MacNeil of Pine Bush, New York a retired truck driver and construction worker and a longtime resident of the area, died on June 18, 2014 in St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital Newburgh Campus. He was 70. The son of the late Edward F. MacNeil and Grace Post MacNeil Chinn, he was born on May 13, 1944 in Providence , Rhode Island. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was active in the N.Y. City Rescue Mission. He was a member of the Cornwall Yacht Club. He was the widower of Maureen Olin MacNeil, who preceded him in death on August 17, 2012. Survivors include his mother Grace P. Chinn of Milford, CT.; his sister Barbara Lawrence of Englewood, Florida. His brother-in-law James Shea Sr. of Montgomery, N.Y. His children: John M. Olin of Goshen; Lori A. Burns of Pine Bush; Daniel Olin of Monroe; Donald Olin of Rock Tavern and Kelly J. Olin of Pine Bush. His grandchildren Katelyn Olin; Meaghan Olin; John Olin III; Brian Olin; Ashley Burns and Amanda Burns. His nephew James Shea Jr and his wife Roberta of Middletown; his great nieces Julie and Rebecca Shea both of Middletown. He was predeceased by his sister, the late Virginia G. Shea. Visitation hours will be held on Monday June 23, 2014 from 5-8 P.M. and on Tuesday June 24, 2014 from 10- Noon at the Lippincott Funeral Chapel, Inc. 107 Murray Ave. Goshen, N.Y. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Orange County Veterans Cemetery Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
