Phyllis Miklaszewski

April 7, 1950 — November 17, 2014

Phyllis Miklaszewski, 64, of Slate Hill, NY died Monday, November 17th, at New York Presbyterian Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 7, 1950, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Thomas Castronuovo and Laura (Troisi) and sister of the late Charles S. Castronuovo. Phyllis spent her childhood in New York City, before moving to Queens and, later, to Slate Hill, where she lived for 34 with her husband, Edward Miklaszewski. An active part of the community, Phyllis worked for 18 years for Minisink Valley Central School District, and later, as the office manager at Jacoby & Morris, D.D.S., in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. Upon retirement, she volunteered enthusiastically at Elant at Goshen. Like the characters created by her beloved Walt Disney, Phyllis not only sparkled, she dared to imagine, laugh, and dream. She made each day a magical adventure for herself andthose around her. She embodied the hustle and bustle of the New York City she loved, adored traveling, and made life-long friends wherever she went. Phyllis lived her life for her family and enjoyed each moment she spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving prince of 42 years, Edward Miklaszewski; son, Joseph (Elena) Miklaszewski; daughter, Joanne (John) Matthews; nephew, Albert (Melissa) Castronuovo; sister-in-law, Rosie Castronuovo; and her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Matthews, Sophia Miklaszewski, Alexander Miklaszewski, and Patrick Matthews.
