Peter Sroczynski, the former owner of Syndicate 8300 Taxi, and a longtime resident of the area, died on August 25, 2014 at his home. He was 97. The son of the late Joseph and Mary Sroczynski, he was born on June 13, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was a member of BPOE Lodge 1097 in Middletown. He was an avid Race Fan at the Orange County Speedway and NASCAR. He was the widower of Alice Sroczynski. Survivors include his children Keith Sroczynski of Montana and Dawn Sroczynski of New Windsor. He is also survived by his nephews John Niski and Ben Fredericks both of Middletown and Tommy Niski of Japan. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday August 28, 2014 from 10-11 A.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday August 28, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wallkill Cemetery Phillipsburg, N.Y.
